
This plays into the tension, stakes, and player choices for each round. There are very few shooters with persistence, or what you called the meta game (to me that term means something else). I expect to see many more games like this going forward since I think it is strictly better than battle royale. If you squint, it's almost like a battle royale that more than one person/team can win. The raid format is a blend of battle royale and roguelike, as you said.
